Adopting a child is a process and a journey filled with regulations, paperwork, uncertainty and anticipation. It is an emotional roller coaster. It requires extreme levels of patience and trust. Adopting a child is a life-long commitment.

Poland is a country located in the center of Europe. It is filled with beautiful landscapes and is rich in history. The orphaned children in Poland live in orphanages or foster care. Poland is very focused on its children and only places a child for international adoption once it is determined there are no Polish citizens who would want to adopt that child.

Adopting a child from Poland is an awesome, life changing journey. It is not for everyone.

To adopt from Poland parents:

  1. may be no more than 40 years older than the child they adopt
  2. must be married 3 years
  3. may have other children, but if the family has more than 1 birth child, Poland will place a child with a family without children first if the type of child approved for is the same
  4. must be prepared to travel at least twice to Poland
